Renaming game titles using a CSV file

Available since 2.0.3.4 beta 3

You have ROMs whose filenames cannot be found during scraping. ARRM allows you to rename the game name to the one found in the file, based on a custom_games_names.txt file, which will facilitate searching during scraping.

Useful, for example, with ROM files such as those from Sega Lindbergh.

I provide a file with some games; it's up to you to complete it with your stubborn ROMs.

Since version 2.0.3.4 beta 3, the custom_games_names.csv file has been renamed custom_games_names.txt and the separator is | instead of ;. This change is made when the application is launched.
If in doubt, remember to check the %appdata%\Nexouille Soft\arrm\Database\custom_games_names.txt file

Here is an example of the contents of the custom_games_names.txt file, located in %appdata%\Nexouille Soft\arrm\Database\custom_games_names.txt

The format of the lines is:

ROM_file_name_without_extension|Game_name

Procedure

As a precaution, back up the gamelists.xml files on affected systems.

Select the system (only one) then click Show

When the Database is populated with the found ROMs,

Select the ROMs for which you want to find the correct title using the custom_games_names.txt file.

Click the Rename with CSV file button.

Validate the confirmation popup.

When you have finished editing your games, remember to save your game list.
