Change the template of a system without having to re-scrap the Roms

You have already scraped your Roms using a template and you want to change templates. Most of the time, it is necessary to relaunch a complete scrap of your Roms by applying a new template.

ARRM allows you to modify your template without having to re-scrape on the net your Roms. For this it is necessary that your previous scrapes were carried out with the options '4 images' activated available in the configuration tab 'General Options' or that you already own the media and that they appear in the database.

If your gamelist.xml or database contains these tags, you will be able to choose another template and click on the button 'Recompose Image'. ARRM will browse each of your Roms in the database and apply the new template. (this is faster than a scrape on the net)

In the case where the tags are not present in the database, but the image files do exist in the image directory, 'Recompose image' can apply the template by searching locally (in the downloaded_images directory or the one defined in the parameters). missing images.

Here's how:

  • Select the system (only one) then click on Display

  • Select the desired template
  • When the Database is filled with the Roms found

  • Select the roms to be treated
  • Check that you have selected the correct image parameter (Mix, Screenshot, boxart …) in the tab Images options in the combobox Choose the image TAG you want

  • Click on the button Recompose image

  • Remember to save your gamelist.xml
